Set high in the soaring Victorian Alps, and nestled at the foot of Mt Hotham, Cobungra Station draws from its abundant natural resources to produce some of the most luxurious Wagyu beef in Australia. With a rich history in cattle farming since the 1800s, Cobungra Station knows that alpine air, crystal clear streams, untouched pastures, and unsurpassed genetics are the key to yielding a consistent high marble score.

Meticulous genetic custodianship and selection programs maintain the hallmark quality of Cobungra Station Fullblood Japanese Black Wagyu genetics. Each animal within the prized 898 herd is monitored throughout its lifecycle, gently cared for by a highly skilled team of handlers, genetic experts and veterinarians.

2020 & 2021 Australian Full Blood Wagyu Grand Champion.   Stone Axe’s herd has been carefully bred to preserve its 100% Full Blood Wagyu genetics. Stone Axe’s Full Blood Wagyu beef comes from their breeding herds, dispersed across several breeding farms in New South Wales and Victoria, all of which are managed by Stone Axe’s own staff. Each property is situated over 1000m above sea level, resulting in a climate that enhances conditions for the breeding and raising of Full Blood Japanese Black Wagyu. This means their cattle are able to grow and mature to their potential with access to natural shelter, clean fresh air, water and pasture, all in a low-stress environment.
